cada estrofa es un “y si…” y minihistorias de cosas que podría ser, pero no son. “si tuviese talento haría una obra maestra y viviría de la renta”, pero hay un toque de crítica incluso ya en estas situaciones idílicas: “si fuese un rey haría desaparecer a la gente que no me gusta. This song can't be properly analyzed, due to the history of the song. Someone stole the song file, and paid for someone to make the music video. Thus, the artist's(Ryuuu) intentions are only shown through the lyrics. Regardless, I'll proceed with my analysis. Luka sings this song in monotone. Her voice also sounds very froggy, and hollow. Furthermore, she pronounces the words strangely, with the emphasis on the wrong syllable(when there's any emphasis, this song has very little). There's no doubt that she's speaking Engrish. Ryuuu's composing history shows that she knows how to make the Vocaloid sound human. So, Luka is supposed to sound robotic and hollow. Moving on... The lyrics. She constantly uses the phrase "tell me now". Luka constantly has to seek direction from someone unknown to the viewers. Furthermore, she also states that she doesn't know many things. From this part of the lyrics, we can conclude that Luka has no will of her own. Whoever is influencing her isn't a good person- she mentions running away, and getting high-and asks "u" if you want to join. "U want this...tell me how you want it to be.". Who is u? Is it the viewer? Or is it someone else in her life? Luka is a puppet. She may want to run away, but she also constantly asks "u" for guidance. I personally prefer to think that this "u" is the composer. When Luka says she doesn't know, she is musing on what the composer wants. If you're a fan of Vocaloid, you know that Vocaloids take many roles. Luka is a sweetheart, a murderer, or a literal animal, for example. "My mind....heart is broken. No one else but you was going to understand my way" Luka has no mind or heart. It's up to the composer to give her a personality. "Understand my way" makes the song more ambiguous. Could this be asking the composer to give her realistic, rational motivations? Or is Luka so desperate for validation that she'd do something drastic, just to have a relationship? "Falling into me..." Did the composer mean this literally, figuratively, or was this line poorly written? Perhaps Luka and u became so close that they were able to understand each other perfectly. Or, u fell in love with Luka. It's possible that u literally fell onto Luka. If this were the case, it would add nothing. I also like to think that this song is about someone who has been manipulated. They're constantly concerned with keeping their abuser happy. As a result, they go through life feeling as if they're in a trance. This could also be Luka reflecting on the fact that she is a Vocaloid, and her entire purpose is to be a shell(someone who is empty inside, someone who has no personality) If you take the lyrics literally, Luka is a delinquent. This is my least favorite interpretation. As for the video, I think the video still covered these concepts well. Cat: Free will Glasses, skates, cat ears: Things Luka is forced to wear. These things are also fetishised in Japan. Chairs: Yeah, I got nothing. Perhaps they represent family? They're in view during lyrics that mention Luka's family. The PV can be literally interpreted as Rin jumping into a nuclear reactor to commit suicide, or it can be interpreted figuratively as Rin trying to get rid of her past or purge herself of her sins in order to grow up and become an adult. Iroha has said the lyrics and video represent conflicts in the singer's inner psychological world. In the video, Rin jumps into a reactor core/nuclear reactor and chokes someone, possibly to death. The little Rin stands for innocent childish mind inside her. The choking scene symbolizes erasing her past self and starting anew. |
